Meet The Next Generation of Improved Cook Stoves

Aprovecho Research Center (ARC), in coordination with BioLite, is developing the world's first side feeding forced air rocket stove. Biolite's thermoelectric fan system, married with the air injection system developed by ARC's Nordica MacCarty, in the StoveTec rocket stove has enable a 95% reduction in smoke, a 90% reduction in carbon monoxide and a 50% reduction in fuel use. The team plans to begin field tests in the spring of 2010 with commercial availability expected in early 2011.
